The Tsarist Russian Culture was noted for it's use of lacquered paper mache, which was an extremely strong material--this tray was made to look like a lacquered version, but is of metal. This tray, 23 3/4 inches x 17 3/4 inches, shows a typical Russian scene of the period...(RU-139)....$985

 

Faberge silversmith----This silver mouse, with ruby eyes, has the markings, in cyrillic, of 84 (zolotnik), head facing right, and (in cyrillic) the initials I.P. which refer to Julius Alexandrovitch Rappoport (1864-1916) who was Faberge's leading silversmith and specialized in silver animal figures. Extremely meticulously detailed workmanship, ruby eyes--28 mm long x 16 mm wide x 18 mm tall; 45.2 grams.....(RU-421)....$4700

The Tsarist Russian Culture was noted for it's use of lacquered paper mache, which was an extremely strong material. The Russian paper mache boxes were long valued by the Tsars and the nobility in the royal courts. They were all produced prior to the very early 1900's, prior to the revolution. This box shows a non-typical, little shown, highly complex scene, with many areas high-lighted with pure gold. The box has a black interior and is 6 1/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches x 2 inches......(RU-376).....$2200

iconRussian religious at late 1700's and early 1800's held icons in high regard and prestige. This is formed from brass (10 inches tall x 8 3/4 inches wide) with it's excellent enameling (utilizing very deep cavities for the enamel); notice, also the elongations of the fingers and the writing in and around the crowns; totally intact and in excellent condition..(RE-374)...$950

Tsarina of Russia from 1762 through 1796, Catherine the Great, ruled during the time these 5 Kopeck coins were minted. Obverse: Scripted "E" and "T" stands for "Ekaterina Tsarina"; Reverse: Romanov double-headed eagle, surrounding St. George slaying the dragon......43 mm, 45 grams, Very Fine condition.....(RU-766).....$41
